Epidemiology of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (nCoV)
Speaking in Parliament on 3 February 2020, Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong noted that the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) is more transmissible than SARS, but that there is currently a low risk of transmission from transient contact. The simple, and most effective, prevention against the virus is to practice good personal hygiene. Minister Gan was giving a Ministerial Statement on the Government’s response to the evolving nCoV situation and the pre-emptive measures put in place to protect Singaporeans.
